This one’s going to be fun (well, they’ll all be fun!) because I’ll be introducing and asking you to introduce lots of different ideas on how to make your internet business thrive. We’ll look at different web site hosting companies and how to pick the right one for you. We’ll look at different methods of making money on the internet as well as web site sales and marketing techniques. I have always had a homebased Internet only business. And it has always proved challenging especially in the beginning stages. My current business, The Wild Bon Bon, is beginning its second year and my struggle comes with trying to figure out how to market mostly on the Internet.

I sell both wholesale and retail. I spent much of last year marketing my wholesale section via cold calls and direct mail. It got to be expensive with low return on investment in many cases.

As I review my first year in business I realize that because my products are more expensive than most of the stores I am trying to get into want to spend, I think it wise to spend more marketing dollars on selling retail. I know that my retail buyers find me via the Internet and place orders via my website so I realize that in order to increase this area of my business it would be smart to focus my marketing efforts online. This presents a challenge.

As many new businesses I need to make money right now. The challenge is, what is the most effective online marketing to look at? Can marketing solely via the Internet really bring in steady money?

I would love to chat about effective and cost effective ways to market online with other small business owners doing the same.
