Ok, I have have a weird story. A couple of weeks ago several people told me in unconnected conversations that a DVD had changed their lives - The Secret. Then a couple we know came over for dinner. They tell us that they have a new web site: ExploreTheSecret.com

Of course, they left us with a free book and a free DVD. So, I’m going to watch more and read more and I’ll report back on whether I have joined the ranks of those who are changed.

Oh, I hear that Oprah is taping another Secret show this week and that it will air on Friday . . .

Also, just as a side note - I don’t think any of this will “work” if you just sit on your visions and don’t take action. The law of attraction + action toward what you want = success. Apparently this book and DVD are pushing lots of folks to think positive about what they want and to take the action to get it. If it works . . .

I understand exactly what you are saying- we have a great looking home accessories store in an old firehouse on the main street in our city. And we are preparing to announce its' closing this Thursday, Dec. 29- during Victorian Streetwalk (because there will be so many people) It is very very hard to do; it has been such fun and I love the buying and displaying - but we just cannot earn enough to make it pay for all the effort. We have tried various advertising avenues and mailings and just cannot seem to hit it. There are new "box" stores going up constantly and it is just not doing what we wnat it to do. 9 yrs. is enough, I guess. But it is heartbreaking, really.

Comment on Phone Customer VS In Store Customer - Who’s Next? by Isolde

The issue also comes up with 2 or more customers ready to checkout in the store at the same time. You do have the advantage of being able to read body language of those waiting but you have to be quick to judge the situation.
Does one person have a pile that needs boxes or bubble wrap? The other is looking at their watch with 3 cards.
You ask the first person if you could quickly squeeze this other person in and go from there.
A good subject with many possible scenarios.
And if you've ever been in our Office Max with 50 billion square feet of selling space and one checker available Christmas week you'd see people don't really mind waiting in a specialty store one minute. (we had 5 on duty at our store that day!)

I think this is so interesting and like the above I do not know how you find the time. We have someone doing a 'remodel' on our website, we could never find the time to do this. Thanks for what looks like a great avenue for all of our futures...Regards, Rebecca

Thanks for the Kudos. Yes, Jenny inspires and I create all of the websites. As for keeping up, we don't! There's always another project on the horizon. We just keep going and have fun doing it. That's what keeps us from being overwhelmed. If it weren't fun, it would take us over in no time.

"Imagine if David Bowie kept his Ziggy Stardust persona or Madonna remained the Material Girl ?"

Great point. Never stop questioning what you're doing.
